喜/囍 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- happy are those who realize their need for redemption.
- the gospel is for those who recognize their spiritual need
- “The proud heart strives to earn salvation, but both our title to heaven and our fitness for it are found in the righteousness of Christ” ?
- The Desire of Ages, p. 300 [side-note - i’ve never read this book]
- “…the precious gift of God is for only those who realize their own poverty.”
- Isaiah 57:15 - “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite”
- contrite - remorse, penitence, affected by guilt
- [jk] guilt - accepting guilt like the chinese
-
喜/囍 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
- “It takes the night of sorrow to call for their sweetest fragrance”:
- patience - the concept of time doesn’t exist taking into consideration the promise of eternal life. patience would be relative to the other party.
- sympathy - are we able to place ourselves in one another shoes. it’s difficult to stomach some of the conditions i’ve seen. rodents in tents. open wounds. little access to basic necessities - water, food, hygiene.
- are we able to live up to our calling to one another’s keeper
- love - not only are we able to show empathy but are we able to take the next step and lift up one another. in the home are we able to place our spouse and children above ourselves.
- forgiveness - how do we balance forgive but don’t forget. do we measure the trajectory of improvement? OR do we even have the right to determine anyone else’s view of their trajectory. in order to truly forgive we must first acknowledge our own shortcomings. personally i think this needs to be done alone or in silence. i often use comedy to ‘fill in the gaps’ if you will.
- [jl - the site talks about the fragrance of flowers at night. in crazy rich asians they had the 桐花 that only blooms for a couple hours at night]. i guess another chinese reference.
- the word 桐 is made up of 木 and 同, wood and “same”
- like 同人 - same people, ball players
- “We must also remember that it is those who mourn over their own sins, those who are truly penitent, who find the comfort of forgiveness.”
- Praise the Lord we have a merciful God. Jeremiah 3:13 “…and I will not cause Mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the Lord.”
- “…we are not to do worry ourselves out of the hand of Christ. When things are darkest, we must remember that there is a blessing to those who mourn.”
- “We shall find the divine comfort.”
- “Isaiah 57:18 - I will turn the mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow”
-
喜/囍 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
- “…[the meek] is not necessarily soft, indifferent, or weak. Moses is said to have been the meekest man of his time, but he was a man of great energy and accomplishment and daring for Goa.” 🌎
- “The earth made new will be their home forever”
- 2 Peter 3:13 “Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness”.
- I would interpret this in terms of what we know about space and the sea.
- i think some say we know less about the bottom of the ocean that we do about space.
- eastern asians show higher risk of thyroid cancer - until we started eating seaweed for iodine. please correct me if im wrong.
- for those that have not been aboard I would say this is a requirement once every 1-2 years.
-

- Our righteousness is all of God, by faith. it is the righteousness of Christ applied to us when we believe. The great problem of man.
- how to be right with God
- how to be righteous in His sight
- born again - “Man has now conquered almost every dangerous thing in nature except human nature. We must have a new life and our righteousness must come from God.”
-
喜/囍 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
- Daily Habits and Routines: [Lamentations 3:22] “The Lord’s mercies…are new every morning: great is [His] faithfulness”.
- “No matter how evil our lives are, or may have been, God’s mercy opens a door to us the door of eternal salvation.”
- [Titus 3:4-5] - But after the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared. Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.”
- note look this up

喜/囍 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
-
喜/囍 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
- Proverbs 15:1 - a soft answer turns away wrath
- martial arts and self defense

喜/囍 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely; for My sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
