The Role of the Husband can be
Leader
- ...leaders who do not lord their authority over those they are leading
- …the authority of a husband is NOT earned but GIVEN
- Enforcement
- parents - the rod
- proverbs 23:24 - the father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him
- state - the sword, submission to authorities, fulfilling the law through love
- romans 13:8
- Owe no one anything, except to love each other; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
- churches - keys of the kingdom
- v19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven; and whatever you LOOSE on earth will be LOOSED in heaven.
- [bind == build (?)]
- husbands - none in that there is no way to enforce his authority
- a husband serves his wife by leading through example, persuasion, and by application of God’s Word.
Lover
- https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ephesians 5:25-33&version=NIV
- [25] Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
- [28] In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife lives himself.
- [29] After all, no one hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church - for we are all members of his body.
